Aditi Ashok ready for big stage at Sime Darby LPGA golf

Less than a week after making it to the final Stage of the LPGA Tour in the United States, young Indian golfer Aditi Ashok flew half across the world to tee up at the USD 2000,000 Sime Darby LPGA tournament.

Aditi, who topped the qualifier and made it to the main event of the same tournament last year, has been given a special invite this year.

Aditi skipped the USD 300,000 Sanya Ladies in China for the Sime Darby event, which is way stronger in competition and includes World No.1 Lydia and multiple winner Ariya Jutanugarn and has a purse which is more than six times in China.

In the year since she played the Sime Darby event in 2015, the 18-year-old Bengaluru girl, Aditi, has made rapid strides – having won the Ladies European Tour Q-School, played the Olympics and is currently riding a streak of four Top-10 finishes on the LET.

But this week she is where she ultimately wants to be – the Ladies PGA. After Top-10 finishes in Germany, Spain, France and China and qualifying for LPGA Final Stage in US, the tall Indian golfer is now in Malaysia looking for a big breakthrough.

The stellar field in Malaysia includes the defending champion, Jessica Korda, world no.1 Lydia Ko, Thailand's in-form Ariya Jutanugarn, who has won four times on LPGA this year, Brooke Henderson, Michelle Wie and many others.
