Last Updated 20 October 2016, 20:37 IST

Vehicular movement was disrupted on Mahadevapura flyover on the Outer Ring Road on Thursday morning when the driver of an edible oil tanker drove over the median strip and got stuck.

The police said that the tanker was coming from an oil mill in Lingarajapuram. As the driver of the tanker was ascending the flyover, he lost control and ran over the median strip where it got stuck. Nearly 2,000 litres of edible oil spilled on the road. The KR Puram traffic police rushed to the spot along with the Fire and Emergency Services personnel. They poured sand over the oil and let it dry for a few minutes. Later, the entire area where the oil had spilled was washed with water to prevent vehicles slipping on the oily surface. Traffic was restored after an hour, police said.
