Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council K S Eshwarappa, who has openly expressed his resentment against state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa over the appointment of office-bearers of various district units and morchas, visited the former chief minister’s residence here on Thursday.

Eshwarappa was in the town to take part in a mass marriage ceremony at Mugalagere village. Before the event, he and his son K E Kantesh, who is a member of the zilla panchayat, visited the residence of the former chief minister. Sources said Yeddyurappa was not in the house when Eshwarappa came calling. Eshwarappa reportedly interacted with Yeddyurappa’s son B Y Raghavendra, MLA. Later, the trio went to the village together to participate in the mass marriage ceremony. The visit of Eshwarappa to the residence of the former chief minister has led to speculation among party workers in the district, as there is cold war between the two leaders after the formation of the Sangolli Rayanna Brigade.

Speaking to media persons, Eshwarappa said there was no need to attach special meaning to this. He refused to comment on the Brigade. Later, the trio visited Huchchurayaswami temple in the town and offered puja. Eshwarappa had recently said that he would hold discussions with Yeddyurappa to sort out their differences.
