A 25-year-old man was washed away when he went for a swim in the sea at the Kudle beach on Monday evening.
The deceased is Himanshu Rai, a resident of Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. He was working in a private company in Bengaluru. He was part of a team of friends which had come to the beach for a picnic.
Rai’s body has been recovered. The Gokarna police have registered a case and are investigating.
