IIMB ex-prof dies of breathlessness

Former professor of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore -- Prof Siddappa (77) -- passed away on Tuesday following breathlessness he suffered during one of his innumerable visits to the High Court.

An Economics professor, Siddappa, visited the High Court on Tuesday to meet a senior counsel and developed breathlessness. He asked for an ambulance. He was declared brought dead at the hospital. 

Prof Siddappa has been fighting against the IIMB for suspending him and later terminating his service in July 1993. He was dismissed for the reason that he spoke for employees, it is said.

He was also booked in an assault case. His dismissal was never revoked and ever since he was fighting for arrears, retirement benefits and also a BDA site that was allotted to him.

He is survived by his wife Tilothama and two daughters Sindu and Gangothri.
His last rites were performed at the Banashankari crematorium.
