'End rumours on Jaya health'

Last Updated 30 September 2016, 18:48 IST
Wishing Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa a speedy recovery, various leaders in Tamil Nadu, including Opposition DMK president M Karunanidhi, urged the state government to put an end to the rumours and speculations about her health condition.

Karunanidhi on Friday said that though the hospital where Jayalalithaa was admitted issued bulletins about her health condition now and then, unnecessary rumours were being spread by some people.

The DMK leader said the authorities should have at least released a picture of Jayalalithaa in the hospital since she had chaired a meeting of officials on the Cauvery water issue and dictated her speech to be read out at a meeting in New Delhi.

Echoing similar views, PMK leader S Ramadoss also urged the Tamil Nadu government to take measures to stop people from spreading unwanted rumours about the chief minister’s health.
