Three burglars captured in a CCTV footage for a theft which took place one week ago in southeast Delhi’s Sangam Vihar have not been identified by police. Police said that they have not tried to send the video for investigation outside Sangam Vihar.

“There are so many criminals inside Sangam Vihar that chances are less that these three are from outside,” said a police officer. The CCTV footage is of three people taking a bag full of cash and jewellery from a home in broad daylight around 2.30 pm. The faces of the three burglars are clearly visible but no one has been able to identify them, said police.

The burglars took things worth more than a lakh including jewellery and cash from a couple’s home on September 15. Since then police showed the footage to people in the locality but no one has provided any leads on them, said police.

The burglary was done in Hari Prem Sharma’s residence in K block. The footage shows clearly that the three go inside the house by breaking the locks and then come outside with a bag. The third guy also lingered around near the house for sometime after his friends left.

Sharma’s wife Devangi had left the house locked when she went to pick up her children after school hours. When she came back she saw that the lock was broken and the things in house were ransacked.

She informed police and they also found the CCTV footage on the same day.Devangi is an anganwadi worker and Sharma works in a private company.
