Swastic Union (1) emerge winners

 Swa­stic Union Cricket Club (1) emerged champions in the KSCA Group I, Division I league for the Sir Mirza Ismail Shield after their drawn final encounter with Bangalore Occasionals here.

Having posted 409/7 in 90 overs, SUCC restricted Occasionals to 331 all out in 71 overs despite centuries from Abhishek Reddy (103) and Mir Kaunian Abbas (115). The 78-run first innings lead gave SUCC three points that enhanced their tally to 34, enough to pip Occasionals, who finished with 32 points, to second spot after 11 matches.  Malleswaram Gymkhana and Jawahars Sports Club (1), who brought up the rear with 17 and 13 points respectively, will be relegated to Group I, Division II.
