Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has convened a meeting of Congress legislators from Bengaluru on Saturday morning to discuss about the demolition drive by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike.

The meeting has been convened to apprise the legislators on the drive which has created a lot of resentment among people, especially those who have constructed houses on rajakaluves. Senior officers of the BBMP will also attend the meeting to be chaired by the chief minister.

The MLAs had been reportedly complaining that they were not taken into confidence before launching the demolition drive.

Besides, AICC general secretary incharge of Karnataka Digvijaya Singh is scheduled to arrive in Bengaluru on Saturday on a private visit.

He is expected to arrive at 5.30 pm and likely to leave for Delhi late in the evening, sources in the Congress said.
