JOIN USThe Cricket Committee of the Karnataka State Cricket Association is contemplating whether to retain the bowling coach’s post for the State senior squad or name an assistant to J Arun Kumar, who has been named the sole in-charge of the team for the forthcoming domestic season for now.
In the probables list released by the KSCA on Wednesday, only Arun’s name has been mentioned as the coach along with Jaba Prabhu (physio) and Prashanth Pujar (trainer). While Arun was serving as the batting coach of the Karnataka team for the last four seasons, his former team-mate Mansur Ali Khan was the bowling coach whose name was conspicuos by its absence.
It is learnt that the Cricket Committee, that also includes KSCA secretary Brijesh Patel, may either appoint a bowling/ assistant coach or leave the entire responsibility of managing the team on Arun.
Meanwhile, Sharan Gowda, Bhavesh Gulecha, Prateek Jain and Mirtakanth Yadav have been asked to join Ranji probables camp as specialist bowlers.
