Two get bail in Father Thomas murder case

The High Court on Saturday granted bail to Father Elias and Carmel Peter, accused of murdering Father Thomas, the rector at the St Peter's Pontifical Seminary. Father Elias was accused number one and Carmel Peter was accused number three in the murder case and have been in judicial custody for close to three years.

The counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted to the court that since William Patrick, accused number two in the murder case, was granted bail by the Supreme Court, the petitioners plea be considered on parity. Justice Anand Byrareddy granted bail to the petitioners directing them to pay Rs 1 lakh each and two sureties.
