Records for Likith, Dalal

 Basavanagudi Aquatic Centre’s (BAC) Likith SP and Saloni Dalal were the stand out performers as the State Senior Aquatic Championship got underway here at the Nettakallappa Aquatic Centre on Wednesday.

Taking to the pool in the 100 metre breaststroke event, Likith was a comfortable winner as he touched the pad in 1:06.42, improving on his own State record of 1:07.27 set at the 2014 meet.

Vaishnav Hegde of Puttur won the silver in 1:07.40 while another BAC swimmer Prithvi M settled for a bronze in 1:08.09.

In the women’s half, there was no stopping the young Dalal as she clinched the 100 metre breaststroke event in record time.

The BAC trainee was in fine form as she won the gold in 1:18.00, erasing the pervious best of 1:18.51 she had set last year.

Global SC’s Harshitha Jayaram was second in 1:19.07 while Riddhi S Bohra of Pooja Aquatics completed the podium in 1:19.63.

In the 4x200M freestyle relay, BAC ‘A’ timed  9:41.46 to clinch the gold medal.
