Hiremath flays appointment of Sham Bhatt as KPSC chief

S R Hiremath of the Samaja Parivartana Samudaya said on Monday criticised the move to appoint Sham Bhatt as the chairman of the Karnataka Public Service Commission.

Addressing a press conference in the city, he said Governor Vajubhai Vala had erred in nominating Bhatt for the post.

“The governor rejected the recommendation to nominate Justice S R Nayak as the Lokayukta and Justice K L Manjunath as the Upalokayukta. But why did he approve the appointment of Bhatt,” Hiremath asked. He said it was wrong to make Santosh Lad — who is a partner in the V S Lad company — a minister again.
