T Venkatesh took over the charge as the 18th deputy commissioner of the district at DC Office here on Friday.
In-charge Deputy Commissioner and Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Priyanka Mary Francis handed over the charge to him.
The new DC gathered the information about the situation of the district.
Priyanka briefed him about sand mining issues, deemed forest, housing schemes, drinking water problems, problems with Religious Endowment Department and the shortage of the staff in various departments.
