Former Bengaluru Development minister and Sarvagnanagar MLA K J George and KR Puram MLA Byrathi Basavaraj laid the foundation stone for the completion of the unfinished flyover on Hennur Main road.

The Bangalore Development Authority is executing the project at a cost of Rs 5,464 lakh.

The project started in May 2012, but it could not be completed because of land acquisition problems towards the Lingarajapuram side.

The length of the flyover was also extended by 600 metres.

The flyover width was widened from two lanes to four lanes. The BDA paid Rs 62 crore to land losers to acquire 39.13 guntas of land where 25 commercial and residential buildings stood.

BDA Engineer Member P N Nayak said the project will be completed by November. The underpass from Nagawara side to Kalyanagar has been completed.

George told reporters that there was a problem with land acquisition which has been resolved now.

The only hassle was to shift the temple located in Kacharakanahalli towards Lingarajapuram. Talks with locals and temple authorities are under way. It will be shifted soon and the project will be completed on time, he said.
