KSCA starts journey in Lodha direction

Last Updated 27 July 2016, 18:48 IST

The Karnataka State Cricket Association has set in motion the implementation of the Lodha Committee recommendations by approaching former Supreme Court justice Santosh Hegde here on Wednesday.

In its Managing Committee meeting last week, the KSCA had decided to request Hegde's advice in amending the association by-laws to ensure the effective implementation of all the recommendations of the Lodha panel.

It's reliably learnt that Hegde has agreed to assist KSCA in this process after some of the association officials met him here and handed over the relevant paper works for him to go through. While there is no clarity on whether Hegde will be presiding over the legal team, he has assured KSCA that he could be approached for any advice as and when it is required.

It may be recalled that KSCA had to put off its Annual General Meeting and elections, scheduled for August 7, after a missive from SC panel instructed them to put on hold all the procedures, pending further directions.

The Supreme Court directed the Board of Control for Cricket in India and its member associations to implement the Lodha panel’s report within six months after accepting the recommendations during a final hearing on July 25.
