Hemanth, Vishwanath spur BUCC to massive victory

Half-centuries from Hemankith and Ram Vishwanath lifted Bangalore United Cricket Club (1) to a 94-run victory over Cavaliers Cricket Club in the U-19 KSCA Group I, Division I, II, III inter-club tournament here.

Hemankith narrowly missed a century, essaying a 96-run knock, while Vishwanath slammed 58 to guide BUCC (1) to 265/6 in 50 overs.

In response, Cavaliers CC batsmen failed to show stomach for fight and were bundled out for 171 in 47.1 overs. Alvish (3/35) and Priyaranjan (3/22) starred with the ball for BUCC (1), sharing six wickets between them.

In another match, a six-wicket haul from Manish (6/31) went in vain as Jupiter Cricketers Association went down to Vijaya Cricket Club by three runs.

Batting first, Vijaya CC made 181 in 45.4 overs, with only Samarth Srinivas managing to score a half century (54). Manish, with figures 6/31, was the main wicket-taker for Jupiters CA.

In reply, Jupiters CA could only muster 178 in 48.4 overs. Faraaz Abbas with 72, top scored for them. For Vijay CC, Suraj shone with four wickets (4/38).
