A youth died after falling from a train at Shahbad Mohammadpur in southwest Delhi, the police said on Monday.

Suresh, 21, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Hari Nagar on Sunday, after he allegedly fell from a train on July 12.

The case was brought to light when several people agitated outside Palam police station on Monday from where the victim belonged, saying that the police did not file a missing or /murder complaint for him.

Congress MP Mahabal Mishra also reached the spot and demanded investigation into the case.

Palam police informed the protesters that Shahbad Mohammadpur comes under Sarai Rohilla railway station police and hence, no case could be registered with them.

Police said Suresh was found alive by the Sarai Rohilla police on July 12 when the railway authorities contacted them regarding his condition.

They also said that they have information about an eyewitness who saw Suresh falling from the train.

On the other hand, his family alleges that he has been murdered by the family of a girl he was in love, who is also a resident of Palam.

Family members of Suresh said the girl’s father had threatened to kill Suresh when he came to know about their affair.

Suresh was then sent to Gurgaon to his aunt’s place.

Family members said that Suresh was missing since July 12 and they got information about his accident at the railway station on July 18, from a hospital in Gurgaon.
