Handibag case: suspect back in police custody

Abhiram, the suspect in the DySP Kallappa Handibag suicide and Tejas kidnap case, was produced before the JMFC court by CID officials on Thursday. He was taken back into custody for further investigation.

Abhiram was produced before JMFC judge Raju in the morning. After availing permission from the court, the CID officials took Abhiram into their custody for five days. He was subjected to interrogation by CID SP Rajappa, at the temporary office of the CID in the district police guest house. The suspect was taken to the locations where the crime was plotted.

He has been taken to Bengaluru for an inspection of the places where Tejas was confined. Abhiram has given out an important clue related to the case and the number of suspects is likely to go up, police sources said.
