Indian men well prepared for William Jones

Continuing from where they left off following their unbeaten run at the South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Zone Qualifying Round earlier this month, the Indian basketball team will look to pull off a surprise at the 38th William Jones Cup, which kicks off in Taiwan from Saturday.

Led by their experienced centre Amritpal Singh, the Indians will be keen to make the most of the opportunity outside the sub-continent ahead of the FIBA Asia Challenge later this year.

The William Jones Cup is an invitational tournament that has seen top teams across Asia compete over the years and this year too hasn’t be different with the likes of Iran, China, Japan and Korea set to feature in the event.

While the Indian side widely remains unchanged post their successful show at the SABA Zone Qualifying Round, the return of Amjyot Singh Gill and Prasanna Venkatesh will give them the edge.
