Arrest George, book case against IPS officers, demands BJP

Members of Kodagu district BJP unit staged a protest and demanded the arrest of Bengaluru Development Minister K J George and two IPS officers in connection with the suicide of DySP M K Ganapathi, here on Monday.

DySP Ganapathi had named Minister K J George, two IPS senior officers A M Prasad and Pronab Mohanty (Lokayukta IGP) responsible, if anything happened to his life in an interview to a local channel before commiting suicide.

The protesters charged the state government is trying to suppress honest officers. Addressing the protest rally, BJP district unit president Manu Muthappa urged the chief minister to drop Minister George from the cabinet and initiate legal action against him.

The two IPS officers should be suspended and a case should be filed against them, they demanded.

He charged the Congress-led state government is mired in corruption. When the family members demanded filing of an FIR against three persons named by DySP, the police failed to file a case, the president criticised.
