An excise sub-inspector was arrested on Sunday for impersonating a candidate in the written test for recruitment to the post of special reserve sub-inspector in the Karnataka State Reserve Police.
Srinivas T N, 30, a sub-inspector attached to the BTM Layout zone, appeared for the test in hall number 1-A at RC College. When the invigilator asked for his identity card, Srinivas said he had forgotten to bring it. The invigilator reported him to Prakash M S, the inspector for KSRB Battalion-3.
Srinivas was subjected to a biometric test but his details didn’t match with the candidate’s. Police questioned him. He confessed to taking the test on behalf of his friend, Pradeep Kumar B C. Srinivas was later remanded in judicial custody.
