JOIN USThe BJP legislature party on Monday decided to take on the government on controversial issues, including encroachment of forest land by Textiles Minister Rudrappa Lamani, in the ongoing legislature session.
State party president B S Yeddyurappa, who presided over the meeting, asked MLAs and MLCs to make use of the session to highlight lapses of the government. Leaders of Opposition in the Assembly and the Council Jagadish Shettar and K S Eshwarappa should coordinate while raising controversial issues, he added.
Eshwarappa, who has is cut up with Yeddyurappa by opposing the appointment of new office bearers and district presidents, attended the meeting. Senior leader S Suresh Kumar said issues like encroachment of Wakf properties, involvement of minister H C Mahadevappa’s son in illegal sand mining, encroachment of 85 acres of forest land by Lamani in Haveri and irregularities in water-testing laboratories in the RDPR department will be raised.
