Cooperation Minister H S Mahadev Prasad on Saturday said that coconut procurement centres have been set up in six districts across the state.
Speaking to reporters here, he said, "The centres under Karnataka State Co-operative Marketing Federation will procure coconuts at Rs 1,600 per quintal from the farmers in Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Tumakuru, Shivamogga, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts. The government decided to bail coconut growers from crisis following the price crash, he said.
