Don't show dissent in public, former ministers tell MLAs

Former ministers Kimmane Ratnakar and P T Parameshwara Naik on Saturday urged disgruntled party MLAs not to air grievances in public.

Addressing reporters at the KPCC office, they said the BJP had lost badly in the 2013 Assembly elections in the state because of confusion and scams. Congress legislators should draw lessons from the saffron party’s debacle. The recent ministry reshuffle was done in the interest of the party, the former ministers added, defending Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Naik denied that the controversy related to resignation of former police officer Anupama Shenoy, was the reason for the party to drop him from the ministry. “I have nothing to do with the issue. Let there be a probe and the truth will be known,” he said.

Similarly, Ratnakar said his losing the ministership has nothing to do with the issue of II PU question paper leak.

“It (leak) used to happen ever year. I, too, could have hushed it up, like my predecessors. But I not only decided to make the issue public but took proper measures to prevent it from happening again,” he added.
