ISRO, KPSC exams on same day put aspirants in a fix

Last Updated 16 June 2016, 20:35 IST
Mechanical engineering candidates aspiring to clear the entrance exams of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) now have a challenge before them.

With both the exams being held on the same day, the candidates are confused as to which exam they have to appear for.

The candidates will have to appear for the entrance exams for the post of junior mechanical scientist in ISRO and also the KPSC exam for the post of regional transport officer, both being conducted on July 3.

“We are confused what to do. It will be unfair for students from Karnataka who wish to appear for both the exams. They will have no choice but to choose from one of these,” Kumar, an applicant, said.

Another applicant, Santosh (name changed), said that they had paid Rs 130 for the ISRO entrance exam and Rs 300 for the KPSC exam.

“ISRO has been prompt in announcing the dates. On the same day they notified for these posts, the dates were also put up. We would request the KPSC to reschedule its exam,” he added.
