JOIN USWilson Garden Cricket Club scored an emphatic 124-run victory over Neptune Cricket Club in the KSCA Group I, Division III league tournament for the Nassur Memorial shield here.
Batting first, Wilson Garden struggled to 198 all out in 45.2 overs with Asif Basha top scoring with 65. Apart from Asif, Amogh added a valuable unbeaten 30 to the total.
For Neptune, Raghavendra shone with the ball picking up 3/36.
With a modest total at hand, Neptune made a hash of the chase and were shot out for 74 in just 21.3 overs.
Vimal was the most destructive of the bowlers as he bagged 4/27, with able backing from Satish (3/15) and Dhuri (3/14).
Lal shines
Lal Sachin struck a fighting century to spur Mangalore Zone to a close nine-run win over Raichur Zone in the KSCA under-23 Inter-Mofussil tournament.
Batting first, Lal smashed 104 as Mangalore posted 260/9 in 50 overs. Avinash, with figures 7/32 was the main wicket-taker for Raichur.
In response, Raichur put up a valiant fight before being bundled out for 251 in 49.5 overs.
