Yechury blasts Nihalani

CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury on Thursday supported filmmaker of ‘Udta Punjab’ and condemned Censor Board chairman Pahlaj Nihalani.

He said that he is not surprised over Nihalani’s  statement that he is “proud to be Modi Chamcha”. “He has been appointed because he made a short film on Modi. Only bhakts and people with RSS affiliations have been appointed in important positions,” he said while releasing a booklet on Two years of  Modi’s rule. He said if this had been be the logic, film like Pather Panchali would not have been released.

BSP supremo Mayawati also lent support to the controversial movie and demanded its early release.
