Mandya, Hassan improve rankings in II PU results

Chamarajanagar slips to 13th place

Mandya district, which was in the 26th position in the state last year in II PU examination results, has jumped to the 24th slot this year.

However, the district had secured 58.57 pass percentage last year, which has come down to 56.52% this year. As every year, rural students have excelled, compared to their urban counterparts.

Out of 15,965 students 7,859 students have passed. This year too, girls have outnumbered boys. While 4,487 students appeared under Arts stream, it was 4,513 students under Commerce and 3,681 students under Science, according to B M Srikantaiah, Deputy Director for PU Education.

Hassan
The district has bagged the 12th place in PU exams in the State by securing an overall pass percentage of 65.47 per cent. The district was in the 15th place last year. Aishwarya B Yajaman has secured 593 marks in Science stream and is in the fourth place in the State.

Chamarajanagar
The district has secured an overall pass percentage of 64.86 in II PU exams and has to be content at the 13th slot. The district, which was in the ninth place last year has been pushed to the 13th slot. In all, 7,881 students had appeared for the exams and 4,398 students have passed. Girls have outnumbered the boys again.
