Two men rob trader of Rs 2 lakh

Two unidentified men robbed a businessman of Rs 2 lakh on Saturday night in HAL area. The incident occurred around 8 pm when the victim Chandrashekhar, a resident of 3rd Cross, Kalappa Layout, Basavanagar, was returning home, said the police.

The victim is a cigarette trader and was riding home carrying the day’s collection of Rs two lakh. The suspects, who knew the victim’s routine, followed him on a bike. They waylaid Chandrashekhar bike near Yemlur lake and threw chilli powder into his eyes.

They snatched the bag containing the money and vanished, said the police. The jurisdictional police have registered a case and investigations are on.
