JOIN USThird-seeded Sonashe Bhatnagar of Karnataka upset top seed and State-mate Rashmika Rajan in straight sets to storm into the final of the U-18 girls’ singles category in the Century Club-Gokuldas Life Style AITA Championship series here on Thursday.
Sonashe posted a 6-3, 6-3 win to set up an all-Karnataka final against Apoorva Reddy. Apoorva got past Kiran Rani 6-4, 7-6 (6) in the other last-four tie.
In the corresponding boys’ singles last-four round, top seed Aadithya Senthil Kumar of Tamil Nadu warded off a stiff challenge from Dheeraj KS to win 6-4, 2-6, 6-1.
In the summit clash, Aadithya will take on the second seed Ashutosh Tiwari, who prevailed over Apuroop Reddy A 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 in the other semis.
