JOIN USA 30-year-old man fell 20 feet down the Lakshamanapuri bridge off Seshadri Road in central Bengaluru on Tuesday morning, the jurisdictional Upparpet police said. He died a short while later.
Sudhakar, who lived in a Lakshmanapuri slum, worked as a painter and was a drunkard. He would often get drunk before going to work. On Tuesday too, around 11 am, he went to a bar near his house and had a few drinks. While walking back home, he was fatigued and tried to sit on the parapet of the bridge. He lost control over himself and fell down, suffering serious head injuries. Passersby saw him lying in a pool of blood and called the police.
The doctors who conducted the post-mortem said he was in an inebriated state when the incident took place; his head had hit the ground and he sustained serious injuries. A case of unnatural death has been registered and investigation is being carried out.
