India drub Uzbekistan

India overwhelmed Uzbekistan 3-0 in the Group D clash of Junior Fed Cup Asia Oceania final qualifying tournament at the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) on Tuesday.

Mahak Jain gave the hosts a winning starting after brushing aside Yasmina Karimjanova 6-2, 6-3 in an hour and 18 minutes before Sathwika Sama carried momentum in the second singles by dismissing Milana Maslenkova 6-3, 6-0.

Jain and Sama then combined in the doubles against Karimjanova and Valeriya Vorobyova 6-1, 6-2 to complete the whitewash. India play Korea next, who blanked Sri Lanka 3-0 in another Group D encounter.

In Group A, Japan outclassed Malaysia 3-0 while New Zealand got the better of Kazakhstan 2-1.
Group B clashes saw Hong Kong avoid a whitewash at the hands of Australia by winning the grueling doubles tie, the final scoreline reading 2-1, while Thailand beat the team from Pacific Oceania 2-1. In Group C, Chinese Taipei beat Kyrgyzstan 3-0 while China fought off a stiff competition from Indonesian girls to edge past 2-1.
