Vishwakarmas told to utilise benefits for welfare programmes

R Srinivas Achar, president of the Karnataka Vishwakarma Communities Development Corporation, has called upon beneficiaries to make the most of the facilities provided to the community.

He was speaking at the programme of distributing cheques to beneficiaries at the Bal Bhavan in Madikeri on Sunday.

“Many schemes, such as facilities for self-employment and financial assistance, have been provided for the people of the Vishwakarma community. The people of the community are involved in various works such as sculpting and ornament-making. All these people must join hands with the corporation. Proper awareness is necessary to make use of government facilities,” he said.

Nagaraja Acharya, Vishwakarma association city unit secretary, told the people from the community to utilise loan facilities given by the corporation. A convention will be held in the district in the days to come, he said.

Corporation manager Chandrahasa Gowda said that the community must carry out united efforts to create awareness on the government schemes available.

Srinivas Achar, district unit president of the corporation Devdas and others were felicitated on the occasion.N R Raghu, association district unit secretary, Ashok Acharya, honorary president and treasurer Kumar were present.
