Last Updated 05 October 2015, 20:18 IST
India, projecting the stability of its economy, strong fundamentals and administrative reforms brought in by the Modi government, on Monday pushed for taking the relationship with countries in Central Europe on various fronts.

In the same direction, Bengaluru is hosting the second edition of the India-Central Business Forum (ICEBF), which has been organised by the Ministry of External Affairs, in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci).

Inaugurating the ICEBF on Monday, Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh said, “There is great scope to take things forward between our two areas in various fields. The last few years have proved to be defining in the way India and the Central European economies have worked to re-energise and redefine trade and economic ties,” he said.

Meanwhile, inviting Central European companies to do business with Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, “Karnataka and the Central European nations have some very complementary characteristics. Both boast of well-trained, lower cost workforce. The financial health of both are in good shape and so is the public and private debt situation.”

He added, “The State has a thriving industrial ecosystem based on very sound principles. These include a variety of skills, talented and niche workforce, world-class research facilities, excellent industrial infrastructure, favourable policies, and close engagement between private and public sectors. With these key indicators, you will agree that Central European nations have an excellent opportunity to do business here.”

The ICEBF is hosting over 120 business delegates from 18 Central European countries, along with over 250 Indian delegates, for close business engagements in the two-day meet.
