Paper leak: KV teacher test put off

Last Updated 04 October 2015, 19:11 IST

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has cancelled teachers recruitment test following leak of answer keys of its question papers.

Though the information about leaked questions along with answer keys appeared in social media on Saturday, the KVS administration announced cancellation of the recruitment test only after verifying them on Sunday.

The KVS later lodged a complaint based on which a first information report (FIR) was filed at Model Town district police station at Rewari, Haryana, under Sections 420 (cheating) and 468 (forgery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Provisions of the Information Technology (IT) Act and Prevention of Corruption Act have also been invoked in the FIR, a top KVS official told Deccan Herald.

The leaked question papers along with their answer keys were in circulation on Whatsapp on Saturday.

“We had no other option but to go ahead with the test as it was not possible to open the original question papers to verify with those leaked on Saturday. It was only possible after sealed papers were opened for the test,” KVS commissioner Santosh Mall said.

Candidates who had applied for the teaching post at the central schools, however, had to suffer inconvenience as the KVS held the first paper at various examination centres across the country. The test was conducted by All India Management Association on behalf of the KVS.

“Inconvenience caused is regretted,” the KVS joint commissioner S Vijaya Kumar said in a statement released to announce the cancellation of the test. The KVS will soon announce the new schedules for the examination. “All candidates are advised to keep a watch on KVS website in future in this regard.” The KVS said in a statement. The test was conducted for the post of primary teachers as well as music teachers for primary schools.
