BKC condemns police action

Last Updated 21 September 2015, 21:21 IST

Former minister and senior Congress leader Prof B K Chandrashekar on Monday said it is “an absolute disgrace” on the part of City police for having registered a case of rash and negligent driving against software professional Omprakash whose bike fell into a pothole, leading to the death of his wife Sthuti Pandey recently.

“The police, particularly the traffic police does not seem to be doing anything right. The police action smacks of extreme irresponsibility, baseless presumption, even arrogance. All citizens would condemn such police insensitivity,” Prof Chandrshekar said in a statement to the media.

The Congress leader said: “I do hope that Omprakash would file a case of continued negligence of the BBMP even in filling potholes let alone build good roads. I shall certainly support such a legal recourse by Omprakash or even a public interest litigation,” he said.
