JOIN US Bellary Tuskers survived a late flourish from number seven batsman Bhareth NP and prevailed over Mangalore United by seven runs in their Karbonn Smart KPL IV encounter here on Saturday.
Put into bat, the Tuskers were helped by handy knocks from opener Pavan Deshpande (40) and all-rounder Amit Verma (38) as they posted a formidable total of 164 all out in 20 overs.
Needing just above eight runs per over, United’s opening pair of Rohan Kadam (50) and Karun Nair (19) set the tone, posting 55 runs for the first wicket.
After Kadam’s half-century, United looked down and out with none of their other top order making a mark as the Mangaluru unit ended on 157/8.
