In what is claimed as a biggest day of Assam politics in this decade, Congress heavy weight , a three time minister and MLA Himanta Biswa Sarma, who was seen leading an open dissidence against chief Minister Tarun Gogoi for the past two years, on Friday joined the BJP in a massive rally in Guwahati.
Thousands of supporters of Himanta Biswa Sharma had gathered at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International airport in Guwahati. A rally started around 11am and criss crossed the entire city and reached the state BJP headquaters , about 35 km from the airport at around 5 pm.
