Rains keep pace, lash parts of State

 Several parts of the State received moderate rains on Saturday.Moderate to heavy rains lashed several parts of Shivamogga district. Hosanagar, Thirthahalli, Bhadravathi, Shivamogga, Sagar, Sorab, parts of Shikaripur taluks received good spell of rains.

Intermittent rains lashed malnad region in the district. In the last 24 hours, Bhadravathi taluk received the highest rainfall of 19.60 mm,followed by Sorab (12.20 mm), Thirthahalli (10.80 mm), Sagar (7.60 mm), Shivamogga (7.40 mm),Hosanagar (3 mm) and Shikaripur (2 mm).

 Water level in Linganamakki dam rose to 1783.05 feet against the maximum level of 1,819 feet as catchment area received rainfall of 22.80 mm.

The inflow of water was 9,486 cusecs and the outflow was 6,730 cusecs.
The water level in Bhadra dam rose to 164.85 feet against the maxium level of 186 feet as catchment area received rainfall of 4.60 mm.

The inflow of water 3,220 cusecs and the outflow was 1,377 cusecs. Water in Tunga dam has reached maximum level of 588.24 feet.

Uttara Kannada

Rains continued to lash Uttara Kannada district on Saturday. While the coastal parts of the district received heavy rains there was moderate rains in malnad and semi-arid regions of the district.

There was drizzling in Bhatkal, Honnavar, Ankola, Kumta and Siddapura.

Chikkaballapur

Farmers of the district heaved a sigh of relief with rain lashing the district for an hour in the evening. The farmers here were awaiting a good shower to take up agricultural activities.
