A 30-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her home in Indira Priyadarshini Nagar in Rajagopala Nagar on Wednesday. Her husband is missing.

Police identified her as Yashodha, a native of Kunigal and a garment factory employee. She had married Ramesh, an auto-rickshaw driver, about 12 years ago and bore him a child who is now eight years old.

On Sunday night, Yashodha’s brother Nagaraj, who lives next door, saw that she was quarrelling with her husband over some matter. Nagaraj intervened and pacified them. Later, he left for his native place along with his son to attend a festival.

Upon his return on Wednesday evening, he found Yashodha’s house locked. He called her as well as Ramesh on their mobile phones but neither responded. After some time, he went to Yashodha’s house and peeped through the window only to find her lying motionless on the floor.

He called the police who later broke open the door and found her dead.
Police have concluded that Yashodha had been choked to death as there were several bruise marks on the neck.

They suspect her husband Ramesh who is said to be absconding.
A case has been registered at the Rajagopala Nagar police station in this regard.
The manhunt is on for Ramesh.
