Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday welcomed the decision of Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on IAAF regulation on hyperandrogenism and called the landmark judgement, which would allow young woman sprinter Dutee Chand to compete, a victory for India.
Dutee was given financial assistance from the Sports Ministry for her appeal and was also reinstated in the Centre of Excellence, Patiala.
“This is a great day for women sports and for Indian sports. It is a tremendous victory for India”, said Sonowal.
