President's XI crush Tripura

Cricket : KSCA XI score over Himachal

 Off-spinner K Gowtham grabbed six wickets as KSCA President’s XI crushed Tripura Cricket Association by an innings and 137 runs to kick off their Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah memorial cricket tournament campaign on a thumping note here on Saturday.

After declaring their innings at the overnight score of 613/4 in 156.1 overs, KSCA President’s XI completed a perfect match at the Alur (2) ground, bowling out Tripura for 212 in 77.4 overs to script a facile victory.

The star of the final day was Gowtham. The offie, who took three wickets in the first innings, spun a web around clueless Tripura batsmen in the second essay as well, finishing with 6/73.

Virag Awate (50), Banti Roy (61) and Kaushal Acharjee (52 n.o.) all struck half-centuries but with none of the other batsmen stepping up for Tripura, they ended up suffering a crushing defeat.

KSCA XI win

KSCA XI too enjoyed a winning start to their campaign, defeating Himachal Pradesh CA by 175 runs.  However, the third KSCA team in the fray, the KSCA Colts, lost to Dr DY Patil by  144 runs. At Alur 3 (T), Haryana Cricket Association thumped Cricket Association of Bengal by 78 runs.

Chasing a target of 258 in their second essay, Bengal were all out for 180 in 65.2 overs.
Jayant Yadav was the star performer with the ball, claiming six wickets for 56 runs.
Wriddhiman Saha was the top scorer for Bengal with a 44-run knock while Pankaj Shaw (27) played a small cameo.

Haryana, pocketed six points with their victory.
At SDNRW stadium in Mysuru, Tamil Nadu eked out a narrow three-wicket win over Gujarat Cricket Association.
