JOIN US Unseeded Mohith Gowda’s dream run came to an end, but not without a fight, as he was beaten by second seeded Tejas Sanjay Kallolkar in the boys under-15 final at the IG Club State Ranking Badminton Tournament here on Saturday.
Tejas had to resist a stiff fight from Mohith and eventually overcame him 21-13, 21-23, 21-6 .
In the girls under-15 final, Shivani Pathi bagged the title, Shivani was leading 21-9, 15-9 against the third seed Drithi Yatheesh, when the latter retired.
In under-13 section, second seed Naren Shankar Iyer and top seed Vijetha Harish emerged champions in the boys and girls’ categories respectively.
Naren beat Vishesh Sharma 21-13, 21-12 while Vijetha got past Tanya Hemanth 21-15, 10-21 ,
