MP Shobha Karandlaje criticised that the ‘Anna Bhagya’ scheme implemented by the State government, is an utter failure.

Briefing reporters, in Chikkamagaluru, on Thursday, she said when the scheme was implemented the quantity of rice given to a family was 30 kg. But, from the last month, per member in a family was given four kg rice.

This month, it will decrease to three kg, she said and accused that the wheat being distributed in fair price shops is of poor quality.

She further said that the rice grown in the State is being transported to the neighbouring state for polishing and the same rice is again sold in the State.

She questioned why the State government is not taking initiatives to pay the dues to sugarcane farmers, even though 45 farmers have committed suicide.

She meanwhile urged the government to pay off the dues to farmers immediately.
The report of flood and drought situations in the state has not been sent by the state government to the central government so far.

Even though the central government is providing encouragement to the education and employment of those belonging to scheduled tribes, the state government has failed to utilise the same.

He urged the state government to handover the case of Yallalinga murder in Koppal to CBI and to drop minister Shivaraj Thangadagi from the cabinet.

The family of the deceased, should be provided with a compensation of Rs 10 lakh, she urged.

The MP said the Prime Minister will achieve the development of the nation and also assure the nation’s security in five years. As per the CAG report, the nation is well equipped with arms. Additional war equipment will be procured from other nations, if necessary, she said.

The Prime minister is keen on settling the border issues with Bangladesh.

The detailed project report for Kadur, Mudigere road is ready and a tender amounting Rs 1.50 crore. The 10- acre land reserved for Kendriya Vidyalaya in Kadrimidri is to be handed over yet. A discussion has been carried out with DC in this regard and the school will be started the next year.

Preparations are on for  the construction of ESI hospital. Focus will be laid on the development of tourism in the district, she said.

Officials concerned have already been directed to boost the speed of Chikkamagaluru - Bengaluru train, she said. BJP state Vice President Rekha Huliyappa Gowda and district BJP unit President Kalmaradappa were present.
