50 pilgrims from K'taka go missing in Badrinath

Around 50 pilgrims from Karnataka who were stranded on their way to Badrinath in Uttarakhand due to heavy rains and flooding have reportedly gone missing.

According to official sources, around 90 pilgrims from various parts of Karnataka are stranded in Uttarakhand. Around 30 of them have been rescued and are on their way to New Delhi.

Some such tourists reached Karnataka Bhavan early in the day. Shashishekhara Dixit, the chief priest of Chamundeshwari temple in Mysuru was one among the pilgrims who reached Bengaluru on Sunday.

Sources said that the pilgrims were mainly from Sira in Tumakuru district, Gauribidanur in Chikkaballapur district, Chamarajanagar and   Mysuru districts.
