The unique identity card Aadhaar has started proving its usefulness in recent days. Especially, during the social and educational census, the Aadhaar proved ‘God’s gift’ for the enumerators. However, the registration of Aadhaar card is going in snails pace in Kadur.

As the NDA government showed green signal to continue the Aadhaar card, a project started during the UPA tenure, many are showing interest to get the card and avail various government facilities through it. Arrangements have been done to issue Aadhaar card in Nada Kacheris of every taluk. Though there is an Aadhaar registration centre at old taluk office building of Kadur, public have no use of it as it has only one computer.

Applications are being received for income certificate, address proof, agriculture family proof certificate, land record (Pahani) and various types of monthly pensions in the same centre. A board has been put that revenue department works will be done till noon and Aaadhar work will be done only afternoon.  Meanwhile, for the correction of Aadhaar card information, the staffs give irresponsible answer that it can not be done in done in the centre, but can be done only in some private centre. As the staff don’t entertain applications for income certificates afternoon, students from rural areas also facing problem.

People demand that two useless rooms in Kasaba hobli taluk office premises should be utilized for Aadhaar registration and minimum two computers should be provided.
The Deputy Commissioner himself should take the initiative, they demanded.
