'100 days of Kejri govt are complete failure'

North Delhi Mayor Ravinder Gupta on Tuesday termed the 100 days of Delhi government as a total failure as it failed to cooperate with civic agencies to extricate them from their financial woes.

Gupta said that ever since Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal came to power, his government has been embroiled in controversies “leaving little time for him to concentrate on citizens and their needs,” he added.

“During these 100 days, the city government has been able to only find faults in almost everything and everybody.”

The mayor said that his cabinet has failed in blending with the system. “Such a situation has led to frustration among the people who voted him to power. The electorate is yet to see any positive result from the government,” he added.

“During these 100 days, Kejriwal was dealing with in-party rivalry. Obviously, he did not have much time to focus on the issues affecting the poor. He has even failed in fulfilling his own manifesto’s promises.”

The mayor said that due to Kejriwal’s stubborn attitude, it is the people of Delhi who have suffered the most.

“Kejriwal and his government is neither cooperating with the Centre nor with municipal corporations and other civic agencies. The financial crisis of the corporations has worsened because of the city government’s failure in providing funds,” the mayor said.

He added that the basic civic services like electricity, water, sewage and road are on verge of collapse in Delhi.  “The corporation is in the red and facing difficulties in performing its obligatory functions. The corporations can’t even able to disburse salaries to their employees,” the mayor said.

Gupta said that the CM is also at loggerheads with bureaucrats including the administrative head of Delhi, the Lieutenant Government.  “Despite being a bureaucrat once, Kejriwal for political reasons is not cooperating with the bureaucracy which is discouraging officials. Many of them have also conveyed their disagreement to working with him,” he said.

“I hope that the Chief Minister soon realises that the election campaign is over and show some results on the ground.”
