A BMTC bus knocked down a 57-year-old labourer near Magadi Main road on Saturday.
The police said that at around 10 am, Krishnappa, a resident of Agrahara Dasarahalli, was walking on the road, when a speeding BMTC bus knocked him down and fled. Passersby shifted Krishnappa to Jain hospital in Vasanth Nagar.
At around 11.20 pm, he succumbed to his injuries. There is no clue about the route number or the registration number of the bus. The records of the buses plying on the route are being scrutinised and the driver of the bus will be arrested soon, police said.
A case has been registered in Vijayanagar traffic police station.
