Thousands of his fans gathered at the actor’s house at Sadashivanagar to offer their tribute and celebrate their hero’s birth anniversary.

Cultural programmes and tributes marked the birth anniversary celebrations of the Kannada thespian. Streets were decked up with huge cut-outs of the actor and songs from the Rajkumar movies were played all through the day.

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Joint Commissioner (South) A B Hemachandra and other officials garlanded Rajkumar’s statue at the South End Circle.

Members of Annavru Abhimani Balaga Seva Samasthe staged a padayatra from Puneeth Farm at Kumbalgodu to the Raj Punya Bhoomi. They planted saplings on the premises of the Kanteerava Studios in the presence of members from the Rajkumar family.

Cake-cutting

Members of Simhada Mari Shivarajkumar, Appu Fans Association and other fan clubs distributed sweets to the general public. Cake-cutting events were held at several places across the City.

The artistes of International Arts and Cultural Foundation performed to a medley of old Kannada movie songs.
